The aim of the Independent Living Centre (CVI) is to provide a service for dependent elderly people by taking advantage of all the tools that new technologies have placed within their reach, and to provide similar care to other population groups in comparable situations. And a key element of the CVI is its accessible digital living space. It will be the Catalan benchmark for promoting personal autonomy through support products in the fields of healthcare, research, development and innovation. Its importance lies in the fact that the situations generated in real environments have to do with the "environmental intelligence", which aim is to achieve that the environment adapts to the user.

The Independent Living Centre (CVI) will keep t in touch persons with dependence, that is, users to be assisted, with companies and researhc centres. These three areas, assistance, companies and research, are in the basis of CVI.
