We promote the autonomy of dependent people

The Association for Independent Living (AVI) is a non-profit association created to promote the best possible use of technical-support products and new technologies to improve the quality of life of dependent and disabled people. MUTUAM and Mutual Medica are the promoters of the AVI.

Nowadays two new promoters, GRUP ALIANÇA and AGRUPACIÓ MÚTUA collaborates with the Association.

The AVI's objectives are as follows:

  1. To improve the autonomy of dependent and disabled people through the use of technical-support products and new technologies.

  2. To form interdisciplinary teams to make individual evaluations of the technical-support products that can improve the quality of life of dependent and disabled people.

  3. To assist and collaborate with organizations and professionals that specialize in studying dependent and disabled people's accessibility in the home and public areas.

  4. To collaborate with public and private organizations in searching for innovation in the field of technical support, IT and robotic applications designed for dependent and disabled people.

  5. To train personnel to use and monitor the technical-support products designed for dependent and disabled people.

To develop this task, the AVI has created its Independent Living Centre (CVI) in the Centre Collserola, located at Passeig de la Vall d'Hebron 156, Barcelona.
